Dr. Lisa Larkin is a women’s health internist practicing in both academics and private practice since 1991. Previously Associate Professor and Division Director of Midlife Women’s Health and Primary Care in the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and Director of the UC Health Women’s Center, she is now Founder and CEO of Ms.Medicine, a women’s health company dedicated to advancing evidence based women’s gender specific primary care. She is also Founder and President of Lisa Larkin, MD, and Associates, an independent, multispecialty internal medicine and women’s health practice, and Founder and Executive Director of the Cincinnati Sexual Health Consortium, a non-profit designed to improve the sexual health and wellness of individuals in Greater Cincinnati.
Dr. Larkin’s passion and expertise is women’s health, particularly menopause management, female sexual health, cancer survivorship, and breast cancer risk assessment and prevention. Considered a national expert and a breast cancer survivor herself, she is a devoted clinician educator and lectures frequently at physician CME programs and educational events on women’s health topics including menopause management, female sexual dysfunction, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, breast cancer risk assessment and prevention, women and migraine management, and others. Additionally, Dr. Larkin is well published in several areas of women’s health, including sexual health and the consequences of early menopause. She is a Fellow of the ACP, past Board Member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS).
