Please join us for the 2015 Conference of the Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health and Cancer! This year, our meeting will be hosted by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We will meet Thursday, April 30 through Friday, May 1, 2015. We will host a dinner on Thursday evening (detail below). The scientific conference will be held on Friday at the Yawkey Center for Cancer Care located at 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215. The scientific portion of the conference will begin with breakfast at 7:15am EST on Friday, May 1st, and will conclude no later than 3pm EST.

Conference Objectives:

  1. Learn about funding opportunities from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and how best to position ourselves for success (www.pcori.org);
  2. Facilitate collaboration through a better understanding of the breadth of expertise and work done by Scientific Network members; and
  3. Compare, differentiate and discuss different models of evidence-based research and practice through interactive breakout groups.

Presentations:

We are excited to announce that Lori Frank, PhD, will be joining us to present during the plenary session. Dr. Frank is the Program Director of the Research Integration and Evaluation Program at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Read more about Dr. Frank.

We will be hosting a dinner the evening before the conference on Thursday, April 30th, 2015. Please join us at 6:30pm at La Morra Bacari Ristorante, located at 48 Boylson St., Brookline, MA 02445. A variety of menu options will be provided.

Liz Frank, EdM, a 10-year breast cancer survivor and Lead Advocate for the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Breast Cancer Advocates, will present on her patient perspective during the dinner. In prior years, the rich dialogue and ideas raised during the dinner session have often carried into and informed discussions during the scientific portion of the conference. Dinner has also been a fun and intimate setting for building relationships in the Network. We hope to see everyone there.

As with prior meetings, each of us will need to pay our own cost of travel and accommodations, as well as a $120 registration fee. We will assist in coordinating hotel accommodations, meals, and materials and will provide for a comfortable meeting space.

CALLING ALL ABSTRACTS!

We are now accepting abstracts for the 2015 Scientific Conference. Network Members are invited to submit abstracts outlining current and innovative research, practice and/or programmatic efforts. Accepted abstracts will be invited for oral presentation at the 2015 Scientific Conference.

Abstracts submission deadline EXTENDED: Friday, December 5, 2014.

Accepted abstracts announced: January 23, 2015.

Abstract guidelines: Abstracts should be limited to 250 words and correspond with one of the following two categories:

  1. Research methods or findings, including (but not limited to): multi-site research collaborations, interventional studies, systematic review of new findings in the field, and patient-centered outcomes; or,
  2. Practice or programmatic efforts, including (but not limited to): examples of innovative practice or program models, clinical findings, and case studies or series.

All abstracts should follow the standard reporting structure: Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Abstracts that have been submitted and accepted to prior meetings will be reviewed for acceptance; however preference will be given to new science and/or clinical abstracts. If you have presented closely related work, please indicate the full citation where this material has been presented or published. Evaluation criteria: Blinded abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the 2015 Scientific Conference Review Panel and selected on the basis of scientific and clinical rigor, novelty of findings, and the potential to significantly contribute to the field of female sexual health in the context of cancer.
